5 Things to Ensure Kids Feel Valued and Important: Delegating

Let’s talk about the third thing you can do to ensure that your kids feel just as important as they are: delegating. I know it’s cliché to say, “It takes a village,” but it really does. As I mentioned a minute ago, my husband sometimes has to travel for work, so it’s easier for me to look at the schedule while I’m planning and ask, “What am I able to move, and what can’t I move?”

In those instances when I can’t move something, I call upon our family friends, my in-laws—whoever it takes—to make sure that my kids remain a priority. They have to feel that they won’t miss out on what they need to do because Dad’s at work and Mom has to work. So, I start delegating different tasks to others to ensure that my kids are taken care of. It’s teamwork. How are you creating a team in your life to make sure that there’s time for your kids and everything runs smoothly?

Building a support network isn’t just about delegating tasks—it’s about creating a team of people who are invested in your family’s well-being. It’s important to have open communication with those around you, whether it’s family members, close friends, or even trusted neighbors. The more you build these connections, the more you’ll find that juggling your responsibilities becomes easier. Don’t be afraid to lean on your team when needed, and always remember that it’s okay to ask for help. We all need a little extra support sometimes, and when you build a solid team, you can ensure that your kids feel prioritized and loved, no matter what life throws your way.
